Chrome can being to rust after some time and can also accumulate a certain atmospheric fallout that leaves a green or gray dull layer. What to do? Neither responds well to cleaning with chemicals such a lacquer thinner. No, you need just the right thing to keep from destroying the chrome itself or the gloss that remains underneath. Anything with “cut” should be carefully approached.

The Brits have fabulous products which are difficult for the rest of us to find, but are unapproached in excellence. My favorite is a line called, ASTONISH. I ran into these in a home hardware restoration shop in San Antonio, went on-line to discover the full line and ordered one of almost everything. The POWER CLEANING stuff is the best. Takes light rust off of chrome without scratching the luster.
